VATICAN CITY, MAR 3, 2004 (VIS) - "Roman Triptych," a book of poetic reflections composed by John Paul II in the summer and fall of 2002 and published in spring 2003, is already an editorial "boom," according to a communique released yesterday afternoon. In addition to the original in Polish, it has been translated into Italian, English, French, German and Spanish.

In 2003, the Vatican Publishing House, which owns the rights of publication, reached agreements for its translation and publication into Dutch, Hungarian, Korean, Croatian, Russian, Czech, Romanian, Slovenian, Malayalam (India), Catalan, Basque, Norwegian and Portuguese. In 2004, an edition in Japanese and Bulgarian is scheduled to be published.

In addition, the Vatican Television Center produced a program which included recitation of the text in Italian, accompanied by images of the Sistine Chapel and background music.
